I think the hair looks preeeetty! I'm also not qualified to give tips for digital coloring either, but for true. To me, it looks great!
What I would like to see is more indication of the toher person. Where is that arm coming from? What is it attached to? Is that person shaped the exact same as the foreground guy, or it he smaller? The way the arm is angled, I feel like I should be seeing indication on a shoulder and/or facial aspects (jaw, ear, hair, etc).
Unless of course you were intending to put that all in and I'm just being impatient and demanding. *HEE*
My only problem is that the hand looks a bit odd because you can't see the ends of the fingers on the middle, ring and pinky finger. Maybe, if you want to have it like they're covered by his hair, you could have more of a disturbance, like hair out of place or raised by his fingers. Right now, it's a bit too smoothed down to look like it's got fingers tangled in it. Also, there's not a lot of skin color difference between the arm and the body, and I'm assuming they're from different bodies, so maybe have more of a difference so it's more obvious they're different people.
ps, when I first saw where you said "anatomy, drama?", for a second there, I thought you might be addressing me, which was a bit worrisome. *dorks out*
just a comment on the light source... if you happen to be on a laptop or have a chance to view your piece on one, move the screen up and down (flat and upright) and see what difference it makes when (in this case) the light is coming from the bettom :)
Anyways, as stated i think the hair covering the fingers look adburbtly cut off and awkward.
Also, how old is the male whose back is towards us? I think that the (amazing) highlights lean towards grey hairs. Though I think that is just me since I don't have any idea to change that... So never-mind...? I don't know, but wow.

Other than that, I love the hair and the hand. The hand is just great.
