Stealing Fire -- The Night After Gaugamela

Mar 12, 2012 07:11

This was my Yuletide story in 2010, written for settiai. Somehow I never posted it over here, though I thought I had. Anyway, it's for Stealing Fire.

Ptolemy/Thais, Artashir, Alexander/Hephaistion

I'm glad you do! I truly didn't realize I'd forgotten to put it up on lj. A busy holiday season that year, I suppose.

Have been re-reading Stealing Fire (AS ONE DOES), and this scene never made it to the finished book, or did it?

(And I'd somehow never seen that The Marshal's Lover was out! Shame on me!)

I just found this and was happily surprised to find it two weeks after Stealing Fire. I love behind the scenes stories. I was looking for your Bagoas meets Thettalos in Memphis, but can't find it. Did you take it out? Was that in SF? I forgot if you had Thettalos there too, but I lent it out so can't check. I finished Funeral Games. SF gave me the strength to read that again. There is real tragedy - there was hardly any crumb of greatness left by Alexander that wasn't demolished by the fight over the scraps, except for Ptolemy's Egypt. I'm reading Praise Singer now, but will pick up Hands of Isis next for a 30 hour train ride. Best Wishes to you.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!

The Bagoas and Thettalos story was for a ficathon, as I remember. I think it was Yuletide? So I think it's on the Yuletide archive. Hummm. I should find it and repost it....
