Last week I got this resource guide from Utrecht in the mail, and found that it's a really nice catalog. Not only are there hundreds and hundreds of different art supplies to drool over in there, but there are also articles on how to do things like burning a silkscreen and the best way to spread gesso.

Good post, Em! I kinda disagree with palette-knife mixing for watercolors though. Who the heck does that?

I didn't realize there was a reply here. I don't know anyone who mixes watercolors with a knife! Then again, I don't know anyone who uses a knife for acrylics either, and only one person I know uses a knife for oils.

I don't think you would though because the binder in watercolors is gum arabic, which is water soluble even when dry, so it wouldn't cause a problem if it got dried in your brush.

Gum arabic is also in candy too! AND you can use it to transfer things! Weird suff, that.
