You know you're at Evergreen when they show "What the Bleep Do We Know?" in your 'Business and Society' class.

You'd think I'd have more to say after not being here for so long, but alas, not. Just that odd Evergreen observation.

What was your take on that film? It seemed kind of eerie to me (not having watched it, mind). Was it culty, or just weirdly enlightened, or moving, or what?

How the heck ARE you?

Aaaaaanyway, that was like the third time I saw it. The first time, I found it strangely enlightening, although the concepts presented were not new to me at the time.

The second time around I saw it in my Chi Gung class. Our teacher was familiar with the studies on water and the different types of crystals it forms depending on the word taped to the water sample and wanted us to see the film because she thought it was relevant to our Chi Gung work.

This time around, it seemed more cultish. I guess the blonde woman (the one credited at the end as channeling Ramtha) in the film is a local cult leader. Her compound is like two towns over from here in Yelm. Needless to say, my classmembers had already formed their opinions before the film and saw it as nothing more than a big joke.

At the very least, I'd say it's interesting.

It sounds it, yes.

As to your first question...life is good. Work is a constant flurry, as we move from one deadline to another, but I'm really enjoying my current project and the recent additions to my team are very cool to work with. Socially, my calendar stays full. Still taking some dance classes here and there, going rock climbing and hiking now and again, and I've taken up running regularly, which feels good.

I take it from your limited posting that life is keeping you busy at Evergreen? You getting any time to enjoy the PNW parks and reserves, I hope?

I'm embarassed to say no, I haven't been enjoying the parks much. Just being around trees is a rather magical experience; I've been pretty satisfied with that ( ... )
