I first heard about Basquiat in 2002. I was a freshman in college...and I still love his work.

See, I'm in this Contemporary Art course, & I think I'm just relieved to be moving on from the German neo-Expressionists and the American appropriation 'artists' of the 70s/80s. Plus the Minimalists did me in for a while. I will *tolerate* this class lol since there are good artists like Basquiat to make up for the people doing ***NSFW***hot dog performance art***NSFW*** (it's grosser than you may think if you click that btw) and fake poop-filled toilets (I will be merciful and not link to that).
