[A small tilt of the head, and Azrael lets out a small cry as if in acknowledgment. Whether he honestly understands, who knows, but it sure seems like he might.]
[Theta is already at the park, settled on a bench. She has a battered book in her lap, that looks far too old to be from Mayfield; not to mention, it seems to be a play, rather than the 'usual' literature. She looks up when someone approaches the bench she's sitting on, her eyes wild and shifting about nervously. She scoots over a bit and nods politely, but it's clear she's suffering from some sort of paranoia or other mental disturbance.]
It's 'sir'. I'm not a woman. [She seems to be used to hearing it, though, if her reaction is anything to go by. Her tone of voice is far more emphatic than it needed to be, though, as though she's desperate to be acknowledged as what she's saying.]
[She eyes the bird curiously, then turns her eyes back to her reading.]
You're not disturbing me...not more than I already am, at any rate...
[She sighs to herself and runs her fingers down the page, almost like she's stroking a friend's cheek rather than touching a book.]
[He won't question why she is claiming a gender she obviously is not, since he has met at least one girl in his own time who identified as male in order to be part of the military.]
[He watches her hand, even as Azrael watches her.]
A gift from home? It doesn't look like what this place usually has.
[Azrael is going to stare at this really strange being, feathers ruffling in obvious start. Why is this skeleton standing here? What's with those eyes? No, Azrael is not sure what to think.]

He is. They seemed to think it was okay to return him to me.

[He'll nuzzle into Azrael a bit, the bird carefully pecking at his hair in a playful way]

[By the way, Azrael is just sort of staring at you. His human doesn't seem aggressive towards you so he'll just watch.]
