[ Having been finally coming to his senses, the realization of what he's possibly put Rufus into is weighing on him. Before the inquisition can run a physical trial on him, he's there, with Dark Nation, opening the door and stepping in. ]

*Rufus looks up silently from the wall that he's idly leaning against, his expression carefully blank and neutral even as Dark Nation bounds towards him, a low purr resounding in the guard beast's throat as it nuzzles its master, who reaches a hand out to stroke it. He spares a softer gaze for the beast, and murmurs*
