Since saying I like "music" is kind of vague...

I just made a playlist of every single MP3 on my hard drive, shuffled it, and resolved to list the first fifty songs in the order they appeared.  Including guilty pleasures and embarassing shit. >_>

Not all of them are guilty pleasures and/or embarrassing, though, and I'm gonna provide YouTube links to ones I think anybody reading this ought to hear ( Read more... )

Akon, T.I, Lil' Wayne, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, The Ramones, Journey, Kiss, Guns n Roses, Queen, and Evanescene are the only ones that I know I've heard of, well Prince too but, I'm not into Prince.

I have a whole list of music from the 1940's Big Band and WWII Era Music including the Andrew Sisters, Glenn Miller, and Bing Crosby, even to Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly and many others of that era, I have Janis Joplin, the Beatles, and some other folks from there, I have Eurythmics, Black Sabbath, Metallica, A-Ha's Take On Me, and some other 80's music and then I have Boyz II Men, Backstreet Boys and some pop music from the 90's and I have a shit load of sound tracks and movie scores.

I have a wide variety of music taste, I can get along with just about any generation thanks to it. ^_^

Wow, that's a lot! I like a lot of stuff from the '60s (Beatles included) but that's about as far back as I go right now (with the exception of owning "Summertime Blues" by Eddie Cochran and an Elvis greatest hits CD).

I really should download "Take On Me" so I'm glad you mentioned it and reminded me. I like a lot of stuff from the '80s too, including many Eurythmics songs, plus Cyndi Lauper, John Mellencamp, Madonna, Genesis (I know they released stuff in the '70s as well, but never mind), Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, and more. That's also the decade the Human League's "Don't You Want Me Baby" was released and that's worth a listen if you haven't heard it; I think it might've been their one big hit, but not being a teen or adult in that decade I really don't know.

Another guy whose work I really like is Robert Palmer. Well, by "his work" I mean his solo stuff and what he did with Power Station; I haven't heard very much of the E.L.P. material. It sucks that he died in his fifties.

Yeah, I like Elvis though he's slightly overrated and had habit of taking other people's song during his decline. Cyndi, John I'm okay with Genesis I'd have to go back to them. Depeche Mode, and I think this was 90's with Nikki French's Total Eclipse was it? I keep forgetting because there was the original then folks kept doing covers of it.

Aerosmith, Boston, ... I have Britney, I am a *milennial* so I grew up with that, I don't have any No Doubt, but I do have Gwen Stefani. I'll check out Robert Palmer, don't forget the Misfits, heh, and of course can't leave out Alabama or Chicago. Steve Miller Band, Eagles, Abba, Styx, or even some good ol' Dr. Dre or Run DMC.

There's also Little Ritchie, and oh gosh I have a bunch of other favorites I even like some indie like Imogen Heap, and She & Him.

Ah, thank you! :D

I like a lot of the stuff that you listed here too, and will listen to the things you recommended which I haven't heard yet (I know that I've heard either the original version of "Dancing Barefoot" or a cover of it).
