i was asking finn and carter if they like being from a large family and they said-- we don't have a large family. i told them we almost have 6 kids and they said that wasn't large. i asked them what a large family was and they both said at least 8 maybe 10 kids.

I remember when I was ten or so people would ask me how many brothers and sisters I had and I'd tell them "two brothers and three sisters" and they'd respond, "Wow, that's a big family," and I thought - "It doesn't seem particularly big to me."

My favorite summer as a kid was the summer (when I was 10 years old) that my sister and her husband and her three kids moved into our 900 square foot house with us. I KNOW that it must have been HELL, but I just remember having a BLAST with all my nieces around. I remember that I got to change my baby niece's diaper whenever it needed to be changed and I got to warm up a baby bottle on the electric stove and feed her whenever she got hungry.

I have no memory of tempers flaring or the house being too small or anyone being frustrated with the arrangement for even a moment.
