Spring, sort of

I bought some pansies a couple of days ago as well as a sort of clover with black leaves since it is FINALLY warm enough to have some outdoor plants. My indoor ones are no where near ready to go out on the balcony but they certainly appreciate the longer days. Why are the black pansies more expensive than the dark purple ones, btw?!!!

Because they know they can get more for them! Most of the black pansy varieties are just as old as the other colors and so aren't under patent. And they germinate just as well, so it's not like the grower is paying for losses in growing.
