*shakes head* I knew to avoid certain pregnancy related communities from friends' comments. Especially the "au natural" type places like breastfeeding, etc

*sliding out of the shadows* Hey there...been pretty unresponsive because I'm completely wiped emotionally and physically but...grrrr...
Is there something wrong with feeding a child rice cereal within 1-3 months? Because in the West Indies, we've been raising kids on cornmeal pap, barley milk and rice cereal for DECADES. My mom was old fashioned and raised me on it, and then subsequently my daughter. We grew up just fine.
This is the problem with most folks methinks. Yogurt for babies, all this vegetarian crap for children...then they want to tell you what to do with your friggin' breast milk. *snort* Dumb asses all.
You've raised two boys without their snotty commentary...why bother listening to them now?
Okay, I'm exhausted from my rant....
PS: I tried breastfeeding, even pumping after I started work again and my kid was NOT having it, she needed more...unless I was a cow, there was no way I was going to be able to keep her nourished, thus the stronger food so early, btw.
Current "medical experts" say you are not supposed to feed a child "solid food" until at least 6 months, as breastmilk or formula is all the nutrition they need. This ignores that every kid doesn't come stamped out on an assembly line like Barbie dolls
