Notoriety had always been a part of the excitement for the Marquise, and the idea of recognition was more part of her game than anything she concerned herself with. There was nothing she couldn't handle, and thus far, her young, reckless attitude had been supported by the Oracle that she held dear. Her vision eightfold had yet to fail her.

This particular tavern was an occasional stop for the Gamblignant, though she ignored the familiar stares as she walked up to the counter, taking her own seat on one of the middle stools and leaning over, glancing at her choices before she made her order which the barkeep hurried to fill.

It wasn't long before she had downed her drink -- a drafted beer -- and slammed the mug on the counter, licking her lips to savor every last drop. It was only then that he caught her attention, at the end of the bar and looking oh-so-grumpy.

She had a thing for messing with grumpy. What could she say?

And he only got grumpier when all the chatter and stares were turned away from him and onto the newest addition to the tavern-- or so he thought. He had never seen this one before, but the hushed words nearby gave her a name that he didn't have to ask for.

A woman drinking beer and flailing the mug around like a drunken barbarian the minute she sat down. Such behavior seemed almost... charming. Charming in the way only a woman of authority could pull off without looking crude. Even if--... she still looked crude while doing it.

And so he rose from his seat, each step down the line with purpose until he stopped and tapped on the shoulder of the troll sitting at her right side. Said troll scrambled up from his seat and surrendered it promptly, Dualscar sweeping into it and tapping the counter for the barkeep all the while purring to the woman.

"May I treat this slum flowwer to another beer? You seem parched."

How convenient -- she had snagged his attention without having to exert much effort. When he took the seat beside her, she gave him a smirk, her sharp fangs peeking out.

She pushed her hair over her shoulder as she said, "You may," as though it was the privilege he had made it sound like (in that odd accent of his).

The barkeep slid them two more beers, and Mindfang took hers promptly. Before taking a swig, she commented, "You're quite the confident one, aren't you?" Not that she minded in the least. Confidence was more than appealing as far as she was concerned.

While he wasn't all that fond of beer, he could choke it down for the sake of trying to woo a lady. He took a swig, trying not to make a face when he realized how cheap it tasted. Instead he chose to entertain her with conversation.

"Of course," he scoffed, "Wwould you expect anything less--"

Shit, what was her name. He had heard it two seconds ago.

Name, name, namenamenamename--

"Mindfang, wwas it?"
