Hey, flist.

Just in case any of you were thinking about tuning in to the last 20 minutes of Merlin's Apprentice on SciFi?

You might want to go chew tinfoil instead.  That's what I'll be doing over here, until the heinous costuming and tripe dialogue fades from my brain.

Why, Sam Neill?  Why?

wtf sam neill

Umm ... because he played Merlin? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0130414/

Sad to say, I ended up watching the show for Martin Short. The dialogue and situations ... annoyed me, but Martin Short's Frik was a delight.

I think that Merlin may play better as a mysterious advisor than as the hero.

I do know about the original Merlin -- I own it on DVD, in fact! That one has its problems too, but I enjoyed Sam Neill's Merlin, and yes, Frik was cool. :D

The sequel is just horrid. Sam Neill's not even around for the entire thing (I know, spoilery, but seriously, don't even subject yourself to it) and I certainly don't blame him.
