Mark Gatiss. That's pretty much all I have to say. I just don't connect with his episodes. The best part of all was the Doctor doing a vampire teeth check randomly into the mirror and that was all Matt Smith at work. So...
I was told that this episode & the one about the pirates were swapped. Which explains the misplaced "flesh" foreshadowing... and the Ponds seemingly unpaternal response to a scared child. I thought at least Rory would have more empathy for a frightened kid, but if you put this back to episode 3... he doesn't even know he's a dad yet!
That being said, I like creepy elevators. The multiple tenants, old lady & overall atmosphere somewhat reminded me of Paradise Towers (all it was missing was a monster in the swimming pool and some cannibals). But I'm a soft touch for kids-get-happy-endings stories, so that's alright.
It was a bit clever how the little tyke kept having to cope with overheard conversation, as seen with the landlord calling for rent moments.
I had to ride an elevator several times this weekend--while crossing floor 6 my Doctor Who watching friend and I overheard a freaky, shrieking sound. Elevators are scary.
