[Stan] I learned something today. Just because an album's filed under Metal, is in Finnish, has a Metal-looking cover, by a Metal looking chickie with a Metal track record... don't assume it is friggin' metal.[/Stan]
Glad you had a great birthday, even if I did completely forget about it until right then. I'm so bad with any birthday within a fortnight of mine *g*
I just roll my eyes when my friends freak out about turning twenty. My next b'day's going to suck, though. I think I'm going to be more concerned about almost being 30 than when I actually turn 30.
Usually I'm more likely to just sit around at home doing nothing, which is why I decided I had to do something more than that this year. I'll undoubtedly go back to the former next year ;)
I've always quite looked forward to being thirty. I'm not going to be where I'd wanted to be by then, however, and that makes it a little less easy to look upon in a positive light.
Well, at least you've got somewhere in mind - to be *at some point*, that is. I don't think I've ever been able to say that. One of life's Poddlers-Along, me. Never had no Career Plan or Life Plan what have you. Other than wanting to be Biggles when I grow grew up, obviously, but hey. Who didn't ;-D
Dude, you could've asked me, I would've told you what shite Tarja loves to do on her own... even though Finland is the promised land of easy-listening sludge, most people still hated that album.
As for send-ups of Robin Hoodie, Dead Ringers (fucking awesome UK impressionist troupe) did bloody fantastic pisstakes of it, I'm sure the sketches are all up on YouTube somewhere... ah, here you go.
Nope. I know that now, having done the wtf-Google, but not yesterday. I'm trying to remember why - other than it being smack bang in the middle of the Metal section, on display as a Metal special - the 'track record' thing seemed apparent. Confusing.
Can't go wrong with Dead Ringers. :-D thank you for that - it's taking me about an hour to download each one but the wait's worth it.

Anticipation of age is always the worst bit. Such nowhere numbers - 28/29, 38/39, what's that about? No oomph. It's a weird kind of limbo.
30 or 40 you can work with, though. Hit the milestones, and suddenly you can Get Away With Stuff. :-D
