I don't see the prob as feminisation, quite; it's more the inaibility of some writers to leave subtext as subtext. It's perfectly possible for protagonists to talk without actually spelling out their motivation; they can lie, for a start, but a lot of writers don't seem to get that.

I do, in fact, think drama is about people's feelings, but that those should rightly be expressed and explored through story - not through people standing around emoting at me like they were in a French film. Or, in RTD's case, indicated by Emotional Music, the lazy TV writer's substitute for words.

Hooted at the "babies wear black" thingy. The only good reason for pink baby clothes is that pink is more or less vomit-coloured...

Shouldn't we really be dressing babies in a sort of speckled-brown if we want to hide dirt?
