Interview, Pidgy wounds herself again, other random stuff

So yesterday, I interviewed with the Trak Group (I keep wanting to call them the Trask Group, hee hee). They do a lot of temp-to-hire positions and whatnot. The woman who interviewed me seemed very energetic, which is good. I want someone energetic selling me ( Read more... )

A lot of people are using agencies to help them find job eh? (That is what you are talking about I assume) It seems to have blossomed very quickly. I was unaware so many people were doing it, but just today there were two calls made to the clinic where I work from employment companies, and my sister in law got a good job through one. Maybe the poor job marker? How do things like this work? Do you pay a fee? Just curious, cause I have a job making less than what I could make as a papa johns delivery driver and no benifits at all. At all... I don't even get sick days or paid vacation, not to mention health insurance.

I think it's because a lot of them have access to jobs that aren't on the open market otherwise.

I'm not sure how all of them work, but as far as I understand, Trak Group works like so: They are paid a regular (monthly?) fee by the companies to help find qualified individuals for their open positions. It's basically like outsourcing a portion of their human resources department.

Trak then pays the employee during their "trial" period, usually 90 days for most companies. The company decides during that time if they want the employee to work for them or not. Ta-da.

I say name drawing, but I think Ian, Patrick, Devin, and Mr. Mike's Dad should be brought into the circle for the name draw, with the classic components of Kristoc, Skylion, Segacat, Tony, Shawn, and Myself.

Say $20 limit?...maybe $30 if we need to push it, but you know funds ain't so great in my neighborhood atm...

I am all for that. Do you have e-mail for Devin and Patrick? I think I can get in touch with everyone else.

I think a $20-$30 loose limit is cool.
