Well, the first match of the season has come and gone, and I officially got my butt kicked (by a rich old man no the less). But even though I lost, I don't really feel bad about it. I think everyone watching thought you played a good game. I'm glad you did not feel to bad about losing hon. You played hard and did well. I'm looking forward to your next match :) I'm sorry my Hello Kitty towel didn't bring you any luck at the last match.

Well, if you're going to lose, that's the way to do it, in my opinion: Playing well against somebody who has plenty of good reason to come out on top. Kinda unfortunate that your first match was against a ringer, but whatcha gonna do? :)

It's all just good practice for the next match!

You know I was wondering the same (so was Kris) why he wasn't playing a different rank player if he was so good. I'll have to ask Mitch.

Ranking in the USTA is weird. Unless you self-rank yourself, it takes just about an act of God for you to be upgraded or downgraded in rank.
