I don't think anyone really expected a genuine LGBT couple or even moment, but at least don't break a character's narrative and history by going all OOC to create your heteronormative happy ending.

Exactly.
I wasn't expecting Bucky and Steve to do a dip-kiss, but they completely excised Bucky and his and Steve's relationship from the whole movie, (well, from the whole last two movies, really) to make sure that Steve 'got the girl'.

Just...stoppit!
