The Hunger Games

I've just finished The Hunger Games Trilogy and I can't recall the last time a set of books gave me quite so many feelings. Well...aside from Dance with Dragons but since there was only the one feeling there (anger!) I don't think that really counts.
Cut for spoilers, length, and rambling )

I felt the love triangle felt pretty strong in the first book. By the end of Mockingjay, Gale had become pretty cold and callous, and the chemistry they had seemed to have cooled. That worked rather well for me. And I was really rather shocked when obsessed lovesick Peeta comes back absolutely hating Katniss.

Mockingjay didn't really quite do it for me. Just wasn't quite convinced by the whole war thing which kinda knocks out the entire premise. The Capitol had no industry of its own so would have fallen when a couple of the districts fell.

The ending just felt wrong. All a bit too calculated. Kill of her sister to add some drama. Relatively easy victory for the rebels. Last two chapters were great, but I was disappointed at how the war was won.
