Farm-to-Fork Farm Dinner Fiasco (Having just gone through ServSafe in addition to being farm raised and (horror of horrors) growing up on farm raised sustenance, this appalled me beyond all belief.)
I will allow that I do not know how the laws in NV differ from MA. HOWEVER! This strikes me as nothing more than someone with a stick up their @$$ and

I liked a system of government I saw in a fantasy series (wish I could remember which): When your term started, all your assets were absorbed/invested in the treasury. If, at the end of the term, you did at least a decent job managing the funds (as circumstances allowed), you got to reclaim your stuff. If not, it stayed in the treasury. (If you got elected, you were placed under house arrest until your term started, so you couldn't flee the country. XD)

But I have seen too many stories on the news and such of innocent people ending up in the hospital sick, and especially the cases where one or more children are involved, because they ate food that was not USDA approved, or such.
Yeah, that lady, and possibly her superior on the phone, where at fault here, but I can't really blame anyone else for this. It's better to be safe, then let even one kid die.
But yeah, I hope that bitch lost her job, I have to wonder, what completely crazy bullshit was she telling her boss over the phone, that led to her giving those kinds of orders?

What's really sad is, it's not uncommon for local farms and CSA's that aren't part of BigAg to follow the law and still get raided and forced to destroy their product, and then not even get an "Oops. Our bad." after it's done.
Hell, at least one person has been charged with a misdemeanor for growing a vegetable garden in her front yard. A rather lovely set of raised beds, after the city fixed a water main and left a bunch of bare dirt in her yard.
...
Sorry, this is a really big button for me. ^_^'

I just dislike it when the occasional bastard abuses their power, and then a whole group of people are blamed for it.
After all, that's what happens when someone eats home grown food, gets sick from it, and then people like on that farm are raided because of it.
My father and mother NEVER milked a goat without thoroughly washing it's udders before hand. And apparently those goats loved the warm water and free massage on cold winter days, lol.
And you know what really sucks? When it's the little man blamed for it. All the big CEOs pass down orders and implant laws and rules, and try to screw over everyone else to make a profit. And then the every day people who are just trying to make a living and feed their kids get blamed for it.

And even if you (the generic "you") live in an apartment, you can have some really pretty and productive plants in pots, like tomatoes, bush peppers & cucumbers, even specially bred dwarf fruit trees!
I agree about the roosters. If I ever had to move back to Springfield, the hens could come, but the roosters would have to stay. XP
