Yeah, that article reads like a back-patting kind of thing to pass around the echo-chamber. Fine for what it is, but not something that should be exposed to the world at large. It's very much "yay, we're awesome, even some atheists think so," rather than anything like a systematic examination of faith-based vs. secular charities, which actually would be pretty interesting to read about (I mean, there ARE a lot of very good faith-based charities).

I, um, particularly enjoyed the bit at the end about "remember, they’ve been taught that evolution is fact." Disregarding what that sentence does to my blood pressure, this is just clearly not targeted towards people who aren't already on board.

I like reading your take on stuff like this because I've slid into apathy about the whole Creationist schtick. And then I read your take and I'm all, "Oh yeah, these people are still out there peddling their nonsense."

As a SA employee working in an SA library, I find it kind of funny to read this because we subscribe to the creationist version of national geographic. it is hilarity all around, and I have yet to see ANYONE check that shit out in the three years I've been here.
