The Story (You had to be there...)

So, it was giskard_nl-Meet in SF this weekend. This morning, I went with him and omnie to Napa to do a little wine tasting. We were travelling around and went to a little winery that had been recommended by a friend. From the website, the place had an interesting history and had a castle-looking facade and a Chinese garden out front. Anyway, as we went into the lovely tasting room, I was confronted by a very odd painting

The men at the sides of it had eyes that don't line up on their heads. The hair of the central woman appeared to be crawling away.

But the best part to me was the dog.

The calm dog who had put his head above the table while the humans carried on. He was simple and weary and completely out of place next to the gaudy people carousing above him.

After the three of us left the winery, we travelled on and had other adventures and eventually ended up at the Beach Chalet in SF for dinner. We were met by ranger_d, hmrpita, DavFlamerock, WriterGuy, and Catherwood. During dinner I mentioned the dog
