Reminds me of one i read last year, apologies for the inaccuracy:
A group of mathematicians were discussing how to measure the height of a very tall pole when an engineer walked past, the engineer laid the pole on the ground, measured it and put it back. After he'd gone a mathematician says "typical engineer, we ask for the height and he gives us the length!".
