Dust to Dust

The world burned slowly
After the fall of man
Sporadic fires with radioactive rain
Toxic clouds of death ash
But through it all
Earth kept spinning
Spinning
Back into control
And from the brink life blossomed
Poisonous dirt washed clean with time
The monuments of man all but forgotten
Nothing to remember

Not here

Not ever again

Sadly, man has come to believe he is the most important creature on this planet rather than realizing he's only a tiny part of the universe. I'm sure the universe would continue just fine without us.
