"If she's going to be a bitch and ignore me, I'm just going to go ahead and do the preliminary work myself," I muttered to myself, stomping back from my car with the forensics kit I still kept. Why the hell should I have given it up? You never know when you might need something like that.

And what the hell was Sara's problem anyway? I called how many hours ago? Was she punishing me somehow? It made no sense. I knew she was working. I knew she was also working the damned case. So why ignore me when I called and paged her specifically?

These hours of waiting at the scene, unable to leave until my damned CSI came to gather the evidence, were hell. I was reminded once again just what I'd given up when I traded in my microscopes for my badge and gun. Yeah, I still missed it sometimes, but was it really all that bad? We were still on the same side of the law, still working together to get the bad guys. Right?

Then why was I wishing I was as interesting as her work?

It did seem to make sense...and even the last line isn't relationship jealousy per se.
