Yes I really hope this version comes to Netflix so I can watch it! I enjoyed the 1994 version so I've been looking forward to this new one.

oh shoot, you're in the states right?

it's on the canadian netflix but not the american one :(

some things i didn't like about this version
-they made beth a redhead
-they used florence pugh for BOTH young and older amy. she is a sweet girl but she doesn't pass for a 12 year old girl lol
-laura dern is lovely, but the 1994 marmee just had a better vibe
-timothy chalamet was alright as laurie, but he looked so young, like a boy. laurie is a MAN. I guess the 1994 version really biased me because i think that laurie looks like young christian bale.
-i'm kind of iffy about the whole movie actually being louisa may alcott's story - at the beginning, louisa, who looks like jo, is selling her stories and in the end she writes the book, which ends up being little women

I get that they wanted to make the movie have a circular feel - and strengthen the association between jo and louisa as writers, but I felt that it kind of undercut the whole movie. Rather than making it feel like it could be conceivable to a family in the 19th century in ( ... )

Ahh I'll have to wait a little longer then!

I did think Chalamet looked so so young in the trailers! Of course, seeing Christian Bale in Little Women vs Batman Begins also makes Bale as Laurie looks super young. But still not as... childish? as Chalamet.

I didn't know about the LMA part - that will be interesting.
