So, I'm pretty sure I need bifocals. It suddenly occurred to me a few days ago that there's a reason I can't see the little bitty lines on Mudpup's insulin syringe when I'm holding it close to my face, and can't read the teeny tiny print on CD booklets anymore, and it might just have something to do with what my eye doctor told me three years ago ( Read more... )

About two years ago I was siting in a classroom reading a paper. I had my chin in my hand and my elbow on the desk. I noticed that the standard 11 pt. type was blurry as hell. When I sat up straight I could read it just fine.

Since then I have been in heavy denial. I wear contacts. Do they make bifocal contacts? Am I going to have to get reading glasses? I am so not ready for this.

Hee! I don't know if they make bifocal contacts. The tiny bit of research I did yesterday suggested that one thing they sometimes do is give you a distance-vision contact for one eye and a close-vision contact for the other eye.

But I have seen some super cute reading glasses, so that might not be too traumatic. I wish I could just do that! (Me and contacts do not get along.)
