Loss of leaders could mean a loss of resource management as well. Just because Al-Zarqawi is the only one reported dead from a bombing raid does not mean that he was the only one that was killed. Being a leader he wouldn't have been alone at the time. So taking out a leader as well as taking out his aides would put a significant hole in terrorists ability to organize a threat. For the time being at least, like you said.

I disagree in part.. that part being where enemy combatants are either unified in command (under Zarqawi or other rougue hierarchies)or simply unified in pride (that being any delusional fool that looks to those that have gone before them successfully waging the (un)holy war agains America with some demonic god's blessing.

Their imaginations have indeed been wounded simply by the loss of thier "central rally" point. Yes many will continue but more than disjointedness. "They" are now faced with the reality that thier god has allowed thier leader (again) to be killed. Shame is just as powerful a weapon as Oxyclean.

And besides thier loss of morale, the homefront could use a little boost in it as well.

I think we should pray for these terrorists to come to know Jesus as their savior. Then they will turn their swords into plowshares.
