This still has me wondering about why there are "holes" in the ozone at the North and South poles. I found a half-way decent article. Have you read much about that?
I also think that there is bound to be some effect from all gases (from industrial production and automobiles) released into the atmosphere. Perhaps, the truth about that is yet to be discovered.

There may be some effect from the gases created by industrial production. However, here a few other facts.
- 98% of all greenhouse gas is water vapor;
- The eruption of Mt. Krakatoa in the late 70's sent more carbon dioxide and sulfur into the air then the whole of the humanity since the industrial revolution;

Here is a personal thought - The earth has gone through mutliple warmings and coolings in its history. So much so that much of North America was covered in ice (as was much of Europe). All of this was before industry and human pollution. Since the ice age temperatures have obviously increased substantially. All without human intervention or actions. Now in the last 30 years environmentalists have argued that humanity is causing the earth to get warmer and that if we continue unabated we will cause the melting of the polar ice caps and the destruction of thousands of species of animals. There is little proof that the earth's temperature has increased more than one degree centigrade in the last 100 years. Seems far-fetched to me.
