"You realize if they catch you with us, you'll be in deep trouble?" Vaughn asked for the fiftieth time.

"You called me Mike. You and Syd needed my help. I'm here for you." Weiss paused for a long moment. "I'm more concerned with whether you're okay, than what's in that vault. How you feeling?"

"I'm fine," Vaughn replied. When Weiss shot him a disbelieving look, he growled again, "I'm fine, Eric."

"I'm in," Sydney suddenly whispered over the headsets and both men snapped to attention.

"I wonder what the heck is in locker 1602?" Weiss asked.

"Hell if I know," Vaughn responded.

They heard the manager's voice in the background, taking Syd inside the bank. "If you have further questions about your account, please feel free to come to my office when you're finished."

Sydney replied a curt, "Thank you," and then went to work on opening the box Lauren had told her about. Both Vaughn and Weiss listened intently as she opened the box and then pulled out some paper. Both waited patiently, until they heard her start crying.

"Syd, what's wrong?" Vaughn asked. "Sydney!"

"Come on Syd, what'd you find?" Weiss asked in a much calmer voice.

Both men nearly jumped when they heard a voice in the background, talking in a low tone. "Who the heck is that?" Vaughn asked.

Weiss pulled out his gun. "Stay here. I'm going to go see."

Vaughn pulled out his gun as well. "Not without me."

"You're hurt. I don't want to have to worry about you if something's wrong. Stay put." Weiss jumped out of the van and made his way quickly toward the bank, slipping a microphone into his ear. "Come on Syd, what's going on?"

It was a good thing he was wearing a suit... He was supposed to be at some conference Dixon and Jack Bristow had assigned him to, but at the last minute it had been cancelled, so here he was, helping his two best friends break into a bank. But at least he looked like he belonged. He walked straight in, having tucked the gun back away, and moved to speak with the manager. "I need to speak with my wife. She came here to rent a box. It's a matter of urgency." The man led him down a hallway and turned to ask him to wait a moment, but never got the chance. Eric knocked the man out and made his way down the hall to find Sydney.

"Hey Mike," Eric said into the microphone, but only static answered. Something was jamming them... Eric cursed as he rounded the corner, gun at the ready and entering the room. He was shocked to find Sydney and Jack standing and staring at each other. "What the hell is going on?"

"This isn't your place Mr. Weiss. Leave."

"Not until you tell me what's going on!" he snapped, raising his gun again.

Sydney stood from the table, clutching some papers and shook her head. "How could you do this to me? To your own daughter!"

"You couldn't possibly understand. Had I not helped, Sydney, they would have killed you."

"You let them! You let them control me! From the day that I was born! WHY? You let them torture me, dad... You let them force me to kill people."

Weiss was standing there, quite confused. He still had not lowered his gun.

"Sydney, control yourself," Jack ordered.

"What is going on?" Weiss finally asked again.

"He's behind it! He's behind all of it. Him and Sloane and..." She paused, her eyes still full of tears. "You'll pay for what you've done. I'll make sure of that." She tucked the papers in her coat. "Did you or Mom ever really care about me? Or was this all a project to you?" she spat angrily. "Was that all I was?"

"Sydney, calm down. You were never meant to find this but if you want an explanation, please sit." She backed up to Weiss. "You can't leave here Sydney. Not with those." Jack stood and moved closer.

"Stay back," Weiss warned.

Jack spoke, "You don't know what you're messing with... None of you do. But Mr. Weiss, for your continued health, I'd advise you to stay out of it. You are not essential in this process."

"Sydney, let's go," Weiss decided. "We're leaving now." He backed toward the doorway, watching Jack carefully as Sydney ran out ahead of him.

"You have nowhere to go," Jack called as they raced out of the building and into the van.

"GO!" Sydney screamed at Vaughn. "Drive NOW!"

Without hesitation, Vaughn sped off into traffic. Weiss tried to get a hold on something as the van swerved, watching as Sydney buried her face in her hands and cried.
