They're a kind of little green squash, sorta related to zucchini. I think they might be Lebanese originally. All the booths had them, and I just had to try one. :)

Oops, never mind. Did n't see the other comments before I posted; kinda figured it was a squash---but I don't think I have ever seen this type.

S'aright!

This is the coolest picture I found. They're pretty cute and vary in size quite a bit.

Raw they have a sorta nutty flavor - I'll be interested to see what they're like cooked.

Peaches, cream, a little bit of turbinado sugar....

This reminds me of a sudden craving for fresh blueberries, sour cream, and brown sugar.

Tasty indeed! There were baskets of blueberries and strawberries and raspberries at the market. Maybe next time...
