You'll have to tell me what you think of Perdido Street Station, as I've been meaning to read it, too.

I might have to make lunches for Simon and write silly things on them when he starts work!

I'm currently maybe a fourth of the way in or so? It's very enjoyable so far; the only reason I stopped reading was because life got really busy for me for a while, and I couldn't find my copy when I began reading for pleasure again.

According to a friend who's read it, it's very much a "read for the journey, not the destination" sort of thing, and there's the occasional CAUTION: AUTHOR'S PET POLITICS ON BOARD zone, but it's very much a worthwhile book.

Plus, it's fantasy in a setting that I've not seen a zillion times over! Huzzah!

You should write "This is a BUTT SANDWICH" on Simon's bags, too.

Mieville is always a good thing. Especially recommend The Scar once you're done with Perdido Street Station.
