So um, holly_blackmoor, I know I promised you the J2 AU soundtrack. The more I thought about it the more I realized I'm not as ready to post that as I thought. It's more than likely a 'after you've read this' post because I want to talk about each song individually and I can't do that without giving away large spoilers to the fic. So, sorry? Instead, I'm sharing

Oh hon, no worries! Whenever you're ready to post the soundtrack, it's cool. I understand what you mean about it maybe be spoiler-y (though I've never done a soundtrack but I've seen them sometimes with fic and sometimes they are a bit of a giveaway).

Those videos were both great! Loved the song--I've heard it before and always liked it. And Dean really is the "Rudy Hobbit" (it makes me laugh each time I think of Dean as "Sam(wise)". I was half waiting for them to make a 'Sam' joke on SPN with the LOTR reference. Or joke about how Sam has Frodo-hair. LOL), isn't he? Enjoyed them a lot, thanks for sharing!

I love that song. And I actually first heard it for my favorite femslash couple from All My Children-Marissa/Bianca. I think it's neat how it's able to fit all different types of fandoms. :)

I've always felt Dean was the Samwise to Sam's Frodo. More so than the Han to Luke, Kripke was always talking about. Not to say there aren't similarities there because there are with Star Wars. It's just, I dunno. It always seemed more fitting to me them being in a Middle-Earth type of situation, what with the constant fear of death hanging over them. And them both always sacrificing themselves for each other. Very Frodo and Sam. At least for me. :)

And before all this SPN/LOTR stuff I'd actually had a SPN/LOTR plotbunny (not my LOTR fic I was talking about to you earlier) several months ago. I'm gonna have to see if I can get that idea back and flesh it out once I finish my J2 AU.

I think I've heard that song used for another fandom vid as well (can't remember which one though?). It does seem to work with many different types of fandom doesn't it? It seems like there are certain songs which can be used for almost all fandoms/pairings.

Sam and Dean are very Frodo and Sam, I agree. In that Dean, like Samwise, will do anything for the one he loves. And, as you mention, the constant fear of death and darkness over their world as well. Even Sam and his blood addiction could be paralleled to Frodo and the Ring.

Ooo, SPN/LOTR plot bunny? Sounds cool. If you have a chance to get back to that, I'd love to read it when it's ready.

Really? Because this video was the first SPN video that hasn't made me bawl all month. I've been thinking about my doggie, Freckles a lot. It's always been tougher for me this month because it's when she died. I get so mad at people who tell me "Oh, you're not over that yet? She was just a dog." Not to me she wasn't.

But yeah, I know you've been missing Rhonda, hon. :( *HUGS* And that doesn't surprise me that you'd do that if given the chance. I know you guys were super close.
