This is adorable, and then unexpectedly heartwrenching, with the thing about Neal's ankle. And I loved that in his dream, the lifeguard was Peter.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I'm just fascinated by the Peter-anklet-Neal relationship; I feel like Neal must need the limit was much as he hates it ("White Collar: the happiest show based on a bondage kink you're ever likely to watch")--and this seemed a (gen) way to get at it. Plus, I like flu!fic.

Thanks so much for reading!

This is wonderful. I can't even begin to imagine seeing Neal that far out of it.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! And yes, I think seeing Neal like that would freak Peter and Elizabeth out almost as much as it would Neal himself, maybe more.

Thanks for reading and commenting!

Miraculously, heartbreakingly, it worked. The fight went out of Neal almost instantly. He drew in a long, shuddering breath and lifted his head, blinking.

I love this paragraph--poignant and powerful. Thanks for a beautiful fic!

Thank you! I really wanted to write something about Neal's love/hate relationship with the anklet--that he needs the grounding, the limits, as much as they irk him--and this seemed a way to do it--

I'm so glad you enjoyed the fic!
