I didn't want it to end. You captured everything so well, the feel, the emotion, both Holmes and Watson, that I could have read and read and read. Thank you so much for sharing this. *mems*
Of course Holmes would be an expert at rock-climbing. :P
Also, I've been on an almost exact bluff like that; mine had no beach beneath it, just rocks, but everything else were the same. It literally - for the first & only time in my life so far - took my breath away.
I loved how they stood together in the water, as their relationship swayed & changed yet again. ♥
Of course Holmes would be an expert at rock-climbing. Hee! It's actually canon--kinda. At one point in The Sign of Four he takes off his shoes and socks and scales the outside wall of a building. I was listening to an audiobook of it in my car, and when I heard that, I thought, I gotta have that in my fic (+I do a little rock climbing myself...nowhere near as good as Holmes, though, and never without a rope *g*)
And, yeah, it's based on an actual beach in North Cornwall--took my breath away too!
I'm glad you liked the water moment--it was kind of the kernel of the whole fic.
little nudges *snort* you mean slash and burn, right? Actually, it felt good to revise, and I learned a lot from doing it--so thank you so, so much for the help!
