Re: school stuff: Can I have you for a teacher? My professor had like 5 things due yesterday and then went "ha, ha just kidding about the exam, that's due on the 5th." What with is inability to put the exam live online. Can we please budget to cut him? Please? He's terrible. (No guidelines for the argumentative philosophy paper until the day it's due and it's a simple "like an English essay with argumentative facts." Because that's helpful!
Re: fandom: I should go back into Alice but I've been dead busy and in various unhappy moods recently. Plus, my DVD is currently in the apartment office. Oops.
Or, perhaps, work on some icons of my own- specifically fave DC heroines/villainesses.
Heeeeere Kitty, Kitty!
Of course, I also love all incarnations of Huntress so my tastes might be highly subjective. I need to make a Jackie Tyler from Who icon later this week. Too many essays due the past couple days to get it done, though. I can't wait to play with Jacks, though.
LOL...I'm sure that I'd love to have you as a student. :-)
And all my assignments come with rubrics - my students know exactly what I expect, and how many points they will lose for omitting certain information. Of course, the number of students who are STILL unable to complete these assignments properly never ceases to amaze me...
*sigh*
"Alice" - specifically Syfy's mini-series - has consumed every ounce of my free time recently. My life has consisted of school and "Alice"-related madness. Seriously. Which means I'm in one of my "who the fuck cares that I don't have a boyfriend" moods because I don't have a moment to bemoan my singleness. It actually feels pretty good, to tell you the truth.
My icons aren't the best around...and I'm sure the images I'm working with have been all iconed out already...but too damn bad. I'm doing mostly Raven and Catwoman, with a smidge of Oracle and Harley. Huntress I'm kinda "meh" towards, but I don't think I really know enough about her to have formed any kind of solid opinion.
LOL...I'm sure that I'd love to have you as a student. :-)
Hey, now! I actually turn my work in on time or early. I don't wait two months.

My teacher don't know how to do such things, as answer questions before the essay is due. Or explain or give websites as supplemental help if we're confused, even when asked repeatedly. If you help at all, then you're about 1000% higher than he is.

Ha ha ha...I actually meant it when I said I'd love to have you as a student...I emphasized the word "love" in an attempt to show sincerity, but instead it came out as sarcasm. :-)
I'm so frustrated with my students. I know I have high expectations, but they aren't impossibly, mind-numbingly high. Let me give you an example of an assignment - twice a marking period my students need to choose a science article...then they must write a 5 sentence summary, tell me what they thought about it, and why they chose it. Do you know how many students (a) write less than 5 sentences, (b) leave out either their opinion, the reason they chose it, or both, or (c) can't be bothered to do the assignment at all? I mean, they're in HIGH SCHOOL...it doesn't get any easier than that. *sigh*
I need a fandom to occupy me again. Alice might again. Maybe Primeval. As long as ALP is involved...I'm in. LOL I still haven't gotten around to the 3rd season of "Primeval"...
I love Huntress, mostly because I just love the non-Aeon Flux style outfits. (

Wow -- I feel horrible just knowing you had a nightmare in which I yelled at you. I'm not really the type to yell either. I'm pretty sure my mother would find the whole situation, were it real, hilarious as opposed to something atrocious. Hope the dream wasn't too scarring, and that I haven't scared you away as a friend because of it. :) (I do write fic, for the record, but have yet to touch the 'Alice' fandom...even though I really, really would like to. The rabid Wonderland-in-any-form!fangirl that I am, you would think I'd have punched something out by now. Euh. Such is life.)
But yay for gorgeous Easter eggs! They look great, m'dear, and I wish I had a modicum of artistic talent so I could do something like that. My sister and mother coloured the eggs this year, and they looked lovely. Fairly sure that if I'd touched them, somewaysomehow they would have been ruined.
Don't feel bad...I'm well-known for my crazy, twisted dreams. When I woke up, the fact that "you" were in it made me literally LOL...I was like, "WTF was that about?"
Of course, I'm also the type who likes to analyze my dreams, in the sense that I try to figure out where the bits and pieces came from. There are several reasons it was you: (a) you're a teacher too...specifically an English teacher, so you would share my plagiarism woes, (b) you're a fan of "Alice," and (c) you do write fanfic (I thought you did, but I wasn't sure).
The plagiarism itself came from some difficulties I've been having in my own classes - my students have to find 2 science articles a marking period, write a 5 sentence summary of each, tell me why they chose that article, and what they thought of it. A bunch of them have been plagiarizing their summaries (Really? It's only 5 sentences for Pete's sake!), then arguing with me about the definition of plagiarism (as in..."Miss Quinn, I changed one of the words, so it's not plagiarism

I can laugh a little at it now too, actually. The way you break it down, it makes sense and I feel a lot less guilt. I'm just intrigued by the idea you dreamed about me and knew it was me without knowing what I look like or a good deal about me. Of course, funny thing in dreams is how we 'know' things, even if we can't explain them. I've dreamt of places -- like one dream where I was in a hotel -- and known exactly where I was even if I'd never been there. I've always called it 'dream-knowing', but I'd bet my hat that there's an actual term out there for that

Oooooh, plagiarism stories. My mom teaches middle school physical science...and she recently had a meeting with a father - who arrived in full army camouflage - only to be informed that he had consulted with the JAG office about his daughter's paper.
Really? REALLY?
Some of these parents, man...they're nuts! (Additional interesting fact - my mom also once had a mother call the Pope on her for using the correct anatomical terms during sex ed in a Catholic school. Poor mom.)
I'm glad you understand my views on fanfic reading...I feel like most people don't get it.
My mom came up with using tape on eggs several years ago...it allows for greater detail if you have the patience for it. I'm meticulous to the point of being a tad OCD, so once I get started, I can't stop until I'm happy with the results.
I'm a little past halfway through, and while I think I have most of it figured out (I'm no expert, but I have enough general knowledge of angels/demons that some of the BIG REVELATIONS were things I already knew), I still have some nagging questions I'm hoping will be answered.
And yeah...when I saw there was a sequel coming out this summer, I kinda knew I'd be purchasing that one too...

Thank you...you literally made me LOL. Hard.

I'll post more thoughts once I've completed it.
