So, I have been mainlining seasons 1 & 2, again (bought the seasons 1-5 set, so it was pretty much inevitable) and... I am in love with all the characters ever.
It's kind of ridiculous, actually, and it makes me want a million AUs populated by all the amazing one-shot/two-shot characters. ALL OF THEM EVER.
I want the one where (
Tl;dr to end all tl;drs and rampant spoilers )

Now, your reaction to this is interesting, because I completely sided with Dean here and for one reason only - his reaction when Jo seemed surprised that Sam was possessed. It was such a "Seriously, you thought Sam could do that?" look. I completely sympathise with Jo, but in terms of the story narrative (plus my own feelings as a big sister about my little sister), I have to go with Dean because, like Dean, we know Sam isn't like that and we know there's something wrong with him. There's no doubt in my mind that if Jo had caught up to Sam, she would have tried to kill him, demon possession or no demon possession. Unstandably, mind!

So for me his motivation is less about protecting Sam and more about buying into the Winchester exceptionalism: only we can do this job, so it's us against the world. And that attitude annoys me because it's just not true, and it denies other people - other victims - any agency.
Whew, that got all srs bizness!

I never thought about how wishing Mary alive is wishing Adam gone, but you are absolutely correct. Wow.
Tara the secret vegetarian vampire!!!!!! OMG. That's perfect.
I feel the same way about Heart. Werewolves in the SPN verse are only werewolves for a specific amount of time and they are not cognizant of their activities. Would it really be so hard to lock them up and tranq them? Really?

I think Tara the secret vegetarian vampire shall be my personal canon now. Because it hurt so bad when she died.
No, it really wouldn't be that hard *sadface*

I love "Houses of the Holy" so much. It might be my fave episode of the whole series so far. And I love it even more in retrospect. Because that priest is doing good; it might not be God-sanctioned vengeance, but he's keeping people from being raped and murdered and all other manner of icky things. And when you meet the real angels and see what they're doing, their utter disregard and loathing for humans--wow. It's like a punch to the gut.
