When they climbed into the car, Meredith was tired.  She was tired, and stuffed, and she wanted nothing more than to crawl into bed.  She had to get up at four for another long shift, and it was already well into the evening.

I love rambling Meredith...she's my favorite Meredith incarnation. And I like how your Meredith takes care of Derek and that they are not as one-sided as they are portrayed on the show. Derek has the right to be dark and twisty sometimes too.

Meredith was full- blown rambling tonight! She really just couldn't stop herself...poor thing. But I loved how concerned she was. And I loved the end of the bed scene.

Thank you :) She's so empathetic, it seemed natural that she'd be that way, particularly with Derek. I really had a lot more fun writing this part than I originally expected. Particularly for the banter at the end and the last few perfect moments.
