The car skidded to a stop, and Meredith sat there for a moment, stunned, blinking. A myriad of spider web patterns lanced out across the windshield. Her airbag was out, slowly deflating in her lap with a hiss. She swallowed

Seriously I feel so bad for Mer, this is horrible & it's worse because she doesn't have any of her friends with her.
Great Update. I can't wait for the next update. please, don't make Derek's family mean to Mer. I don't think she can handle it.

I feel bad for Meredith, too, poor girl. She's a trooper, though. She'll live :)

I want to see how Meredith reacts to the idea of losing Derek, but then again I don't because I don't want her to even have to go through that. I also hope this gives the family a chance to see how much they love each other...how big of a love they have.
This all makes me incredibly, incredibly sad. You have ruined my night, basically.

But yes, I'm loving this story, and I'm so worried for Mer/Der. Great job with the angst! And please, please update soon. I'm dying here.

While meeting Derek's family and the car accident may be cliches in the fic world, this combination isn't one that I've seen before. I'm actually excited for this moment when they meet.
You did a great job with Mere's reaction, trying to be both doctor and girlfriend and cycling between the two without really noticing. We've seen Meredith in jeopardy a lot and we know a lot about her, but I'm so glad that you picked up on the blanks in Derek's history. Derek's THE ONE for Meredith and yet she doesn't know his medical history. It's crazy how things like that will just bring you up short. It's something that you feel like you should know, but at the same time, there's usually not something that you just find out in the course of conversation - there's no exchanging of patient history forms or anything ;)
I'm really excited about where you are going with this - keep it up!

And thank you for the feedback :) Medical history certainly isn't something that comes out in regular conversation, and seeing as how Mer/Der don't talk all that much anyway, well, there's gonna be some gigantic gaps. It's all just waiting there for me to pillage! Muhahaha ;)
