Another wonderful update thank you! I see where your going with this, and I can't wait to see his reaction when she finally talks to him about it!! I find myself looking forward to this story more than the show now, I can't wait for the next update !! :)I didn't get just how sick Derek really was so thanks for clearing that up, and I loved Bailey's visit! I am really looking forward to them going fishing!

Thank you so much for the feedback :) I'm glad the flashback helped explain how sick Derek was. I know it was sort of hard to really grasp before, since I didn't show any of the hospital stuff except after the danger had already passed.

I love it! You gave me a Derek/Bailey moment, which I love, even if Bailey was paddling in an Egyptian river, bless her.

I still love all the flashback bits, it makes it all so vivid and heartbreaking.

Did you know the link for this chapter on ff.net isn't working? FF.net is obviously having a funny moment or something, but had to tell you in case you don't get any FF.net reviews and want to know why. It's because people can't get at the chapter, it isn't showing, at least I couldn't get it to show despite having a link showing up.

Anyway, brilliant as ever, can't wait for more.

I definitely liked this part, but I have to admit I expected something a bit different. Which is completely my fault, as you didn't give any detailed hint which would have warranted something different. For some reason I just expected more angst and because of that more direct Meredith-Derek interaction or even conversation. Which makes me feel really bad now in retrospective, that I expected Derek to live through an even worse nightmare or panic attack or anything different/worse from what you wrote. I don't really know how to put my vague expectations into better words (which is why you are the fanfic writer and I am not ( ... )

I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter even though it wasn't what you expected. My real goal for the chapter was to have Meredith come around to the idea of a legal marriage, and that was it. It was always intended to be short and sweet. The only thing that made it long was the Derek/Bailey flashback, which I felt compelled to include because I have too much love for that platonic ship, and I can't be helped. So you guys get to 'suffer' with me :)

I, too, was surprised when Derek's recovery was completely dropped from the S7 plotlines. Speeding? Really? That's it? Ugh. This season would have been so much more fascinating if they'd done a detailed analysis of *all* the character's reactions to the shooting, and not just Cristina's.
