First, I really sincerely want to thank everyone who downloaded my version of Solitary Man last week. I was really nervous about posting it, but you guys have been so awesome. It really brightened my week/month/existence. And I need inspiration to practice, since I have a performance workshop thingy this weekend.

The song is still downloadable,Read more... )

My sister has those "shape-up" shoes. They look weird. I think she likes them, though. IDK about the sizes.

lol The Human Centipede. My friend told me about that movie and sent me a link to the trailer, and at first I wasn't aware it was a real movie trailer, and when I was watching it I kept thinking, "lol, this is so horribly acted and plotted and filmed/edited, wow, but it's pretty impressive for someone's joke fake trailer project!" ...and then I looked at the comments and looked on Wikipedia and realized it was an actual film and was like "Wait what." lololololol. So uh. Haha. I haven't seen it, and have no plans to, but would be amused to read some articles about how horrendous it doubtlessly is. Heh.

Yeah, that fanfic rant blog entry got deleted. I think if you go on fandom_wank there were screencaps saved or something.

They do look weird, that's part of what I like about them. :)

The Human Centipede would make an AWESOME fake trailer. I can see why you thought that. I'll get some links together soon!

Ohh, Fandom Wank, forgot about that, thanks.

I haven't been around in a while, so *hugs*.

It like gives away the entire plot of the movie, too! That was another part of why I thought it must be a joke trailer, lol.

HUGS TO YOU TOO, BB! *HUGS*

Fourth and last, did that pro writer who did the long fanfic rant blog a few weeks ago delete it? (or did I just lose the link?) I never got a chance to read the whole thing. :(

Man, that thing ate a good part of my last week. But her asshattery aside there was acually some good discussion in the comments. Shame that it's gone. Like bitter_crimson said, I think f_w has some screencaps, I think I saw some on page 6 of the wank report.

[eta: this comment has freezepages of the comments of the first post. For your procrastinating needs. :) (But I gotta warn you, it could suck you in and spit you out in a week from now...)

heh, the main reason I didn't read much of it is that I knew it would suck me in. :) Thanks for the link! *sucking noise*

I'm glad you liked them!!! I sent it as a thank you for all your fic and posts that I've enjoyed for which I'm too much of a die-hard lurker to make myself respond. So you are very welcome. :)

I know! After reading so much about it, I was tempted to see it too (and it's playing ON DEMAND in my cable system!), but I think I'll refrain. *g*

I just want a really good walking shoe, and I feel like indulging myself a little.

New Balance is supposed to make really good walking shoes. I think because they've researched what it is that walkers need rather than extrapolating from their running research. Anyway, I have a pair of New Balance 845 that I adore. I'm not sure how they'd do off road, though. (I mean, I'm sure they'd do fine, but I wonder how the tread would hold up?)

Also, thorlos socks are amazing. The price is blink-worthy, but zomg, the difference! And they're supposed to last for years and years and years. (I've had mine for three months or so and they're still in great shape. I'm pretty militant about proper washing, though. Because of the price ( ... )

Ooh thanks for the tips. I'm particularly intrigued by the socks. What do they do? Are they thicker than regular socks? Do they take up more space in the shoe?

They have extra padding in strategic places. ;D They differ depending on if you get a runner or walker sock, but the walker ones have padding in the toes and heel and on the top of the foot (to protect against rubbing from the top of the shoes). They come in three varieties of thickness. They've warned that the thickest do take up enough extra space that people usually have to go up a size. (They recommend you wear the socks when trying on new shoes.)

Since we got the socks after we got our shoes and were in no way interested in buying another pair of shoes, I got a couple in the thinnest and a couple in the medium level of padding. They both work well for me. I use the medium thickness when I know we're planning a long walk. It's like a little treat for my feet. :D
