The Harry Potter series. Wizards and magic, stuff like that. The kids parents get killed by an evil wizard, he mysteriously survives, goes to some school for wizards, and later has to fight the evil guy and his lackeys. Rosie liked them. I read the first one - it was... cute, but uninteresting.
