Yes, quite.

I think of initiation as a Narrative Event - it is the type of ritual that has a story attached to it. That is why it is usually triggered off by people doing planned things. But narratives can erupt spontaneously. The call and response of "are you certain you will walk this path" is not always in plain English or plain language at all.
