HOLY FUCKING SOMETHING

My website is the #1 hit on Google for "zork walkthrough".

I want to note that this is two ahead of GameFAQs which I think of as the go-to site for this kind of thing.

Also #1 for "kings quest 3 remake walkthrough" (this game) and #2 for "kings quest 2 remake walkthrough" (this game).

What the crap?!?

omg, geekitude, teh intarwebz

Yeah, I had a bunch of weird traffic back in the day when I was like #2 on google for "harry draco slash". Google sometimes loses its mind.

It's not like it's totally spurious. I do have a big section of game walkthroughs on my site, and I occasionally get a thank-you kind of email about it. I'm just surprised that the zeitgeist (or the PageRankgeist) has chosen my site over whatever's available at GameFAQs.

I gotta wonder what "harry draco slash" threw you up the charts, though ^_-

(I got some surprising results on "harry draco snowball" when, while logged in to enotsola's Google account, I was trying to find a screencap of the scene from the PoA film where Harry is throwing snow [which ought to be mud] at Draco and his pals. enotsola keeps SafeSearch off, you see...)

Sadly, nothing scandalous - it was my old site that had photos from the HP movie premiere and our folks in costumes there. The title tag had "Harry, draco... SLASH AWAY!" and google was really big into the html title tag back then (maybe they are now too, but I noticed then that doing stuff like movie quotes in the title tag would get major high google rank for that quote) so for a couple of years it was #2 (after being #1 for a short while) on google for it.

If you Google a friend of mine's full name, the first result is a YouTube video of "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley.

what. the. christ.
