What the hell was that? Cordelia thinks as she breaks away from Xander Harris. Xander Harris is a loser. Xander Harris is so not in her league. Xander Harris makes her blood boil just by looking at him. The worm guy! He must have done something to her. Yes, that’s it. The creep put the whammy on her. No way does she find Xander attractive. Looking at him, she can see that he is flushed with desire. Of course he is, the drooling idiot. His wildest dream has just come true. He’s just kissed the most desirable woman in Sunnydale High. The look in his eyes says he wants more. Cordelia can feel her heart pounding in her chest. It’s the spell, right? Plus, they’re about to become worm food. They’re in danger, and she knows how her libido reacts when her life is threatened. What the hell. Cordelia leans in for another kiss.
What just happened? Did he just kiss Cordelia Chase, the meanest, most spiteful girl in Sunnydale High? Heart pumping, senses reeling, Xander stands there panting. The look on Cordelia’s face shows disbelief, surprise and, he’s not quite sure if it’s directed at him or herself, disgust. He hates the girl with a passion. She’s made his and Willow’s life a misery with her deriding barbs and stinging criticisms. His life’s mission has been to counter those missiles with his own, knowing that he falls short even in that area. Still, Cordelia is beautiful, and when was the last time he kissed a girl? Had he ever? Xander tries to clear his head, but he finds it impossible. All he can see is the beauty before him and, if it is even possible, his heartbeat kicks up a notch. And that’s not the only thing that kicks up when Cordelia leans in for another kiss.
