Just for Ashley (and, okay, because I wanted to see it too), today I went to go see Tangled. Protip: don't catch the 1:30 matinee on a Sunday for a popular animated film. At least wait until the 4:30 showing if you insist on getting a cheap ticket. I like kids, but... Just shush already, kid next to me. And stop wiggling in your seat.
(
Spoilers, as you might imagine. )

I'm so glad you liked it! : D :D
I agree that the sudden realization that she's the princess was too fast.
My inside knowledge says me that Eugene is actually 26. But it's okay, Rapunzel just turned legal.
A TV show would be awesome. But CG tv shows suck so I vote for a 2-d one!
I agree we need more explanation. I mean she can't get over Gothel that easily and its awkward to suddenly have a new family. Also, at a Animation they were explaining how her hair was such a part of her, but now its gone. Many girls cry when they cut their hair and she can't swing on it and stuff anymore. I'd like to think they have adventures because isn't the castle just another tower?
I want to hear Flynn's song too! It sounded like it was going to be so cute!
I have a small collection of stuff piling up. The children's books have such nice pictures I can't help it...

Oooh, 2D TV would be even better! Come on, Disney. Make it happen! (Watch, they'll make it after all and then focus the whole thing on the thugs, a la Timon and Puumba or the Penguins of Madagascar.)
I wonder if, should there be a sequel, they'll come up with something to use in lieu of hair? Grappling hooks? Seems like it would make sense, and they'd be easier to truck around then all that hair. I'm sure Eugene could hook her up.
Did you hear that anecdote about how, when they were working out how to model all that hair, they stung a ton of fishing line through a football helmet and paraded up and down the halls in it? I want that to be on the DVD, too.
Do you have the book by Carol Keane? Apparently the whole idea of Rapunzel painting the walls was based on her scribbling on the walls when she was a baby. The Keane family is too adorable.

No I didn't hear that anecdote. I saw a video of them having a girl with knee length hair move. But her hair wasn't that pretty...
I don't have that book. But I am going to an event honoring Glen Keane this Saturday! : D And he's gonna be there!

I do my best to avoid learning anything at all about any movie I'm planning to see (didn't even watch the Tangled trailer), but once I see it I start devouring every article I can find on the web. Reading all of the speculation about Tangled months and even years later was interesting. And funny.
SO. JEALOUS. Glen Keane is, like... I AM SO JEALOUS. You know he's the one who insisted the animation look so fluid even though it was CGI? Sure wasn't Lasseter. Check out the last bit of this interview. "You guys work so hard just to come up with something that looks bad!"

I thought it was adorable but the music could have been better.
