Ever since coming across a link on Ken Jennings' blog a few months ago, I've been periodically checking Sporcle to see what new quizzes are up. A little while back, one of the published quizzes was Musical by Clip, which I pretty much aced and enjoyed (pretty much because apparently I cannot spell "Cabaret" under pressure), so I have gone ahead and ( Read more... )

Haha, I got 18/51. Pretty good, I guess. I'm really surprised you got ALL of them?! Even the really old ones?

I was like, "It's 'Tambourine Man' I know it is! ...Oh. 'Music Man'. Duh."

Missed Cabaret (because I kept spelling it "Caberet"), Bye Bye Birdie (even though I've seen it twice - I thought it was that Elvis jukebox one due to the song) and Chess (because I have never been able to listen through all of Chess without tuning out). So, 48/51.

Wow. I'd never even heard of "1776", "Godspell", "Assassins", and "Pippin".

Okay, to hell with the other three, but you need to see 1776 now.

Godspell is very pretty folk music against a backdrop of the preachiest Jesus ever (who is also dressed like a clown), Assassins is about assassins (Ballad of Booth is quite catchy, actually), and Pippin is the very epitome of why Stephen Schwartz still hasn't won that Tony (pretty in spots -
"Corner of the Sky" - but far too ponderous and weighty in others).

You've heard of Batboy? I've never met anyone who's heard of Batboy.
