Good luck getting a Japan club off the ground! I loved being in the J-club, as we called it most of the time, lol, at my school. Since it was mostly made up of Japanese language students and Japanese exchange students, it was pretty cool. Refreshing to meet people who are interested in Japan for more than anime and sushi. >_>

Thanks! I'm so excited about it, although we don't have an official name yet. I'm hoping we'll get a variety of people.

Any ideas for events that you guys had in J-Club?

Let's see... Our big events are a bounenkai (you know what those are, yes? Except ours are alcohol-free, lol) and, at the end of the spring semester, a Japan Culture Night, where we have various presentations. We usually invite some guests, but one year we had a play written by one of the exchange students, and last year we had some dances (souran bushi, para para, and because we're super cool, Shingo Mama XD), a fashion show, and some other stuff. As for regular events, there are regular meetings, of course, and I think as part of it they'll usually have some kind of random presentation by one of the members before getting down to business. There are also J-sports days where they'll either play regular sports or sometimes Japanese games like Daruma-san ga koronda, and we always meet up with Japanese exchange students, have events with them, have some club members help them out with adjusting to the States, etc. Oh, and once a year there's an Origami-a-thon where the goal is to fold a thousand cranes for the Hiroshima peace

I actually had an idea for presentations but scheduling them throughout the semester. Asking people what they want to learn about. Several teachers have also volunteered to come and talk about Japan. Having a dance would be cool and ooh, a Sports Day would be so much fun when it gets warmer.

Our advisor is also connected to Japanese associations in Kentucky and she offered to introduce us to some Japanese companies here, too. She seems to be really into it.

Who cares if it's tl;dr, I'll read it anyway. Thanks again!

Dareka ga Watashi ni Kisu wo Shita needs to premiere in America. It just does. With so many awesome movies coming out this year and having to wait so long for them to come out on DVD, we need SOMETHING. Come on, Hans. I'll give you a cookie.

Have you seen the press conference? I was a bit surprised to hear Maki speak English, but I gotta say she did fine and was pretty understandable. :D And Tego looked oh so adorable (I'm being biased again XD)

I hope it does get to premiere in America! From where I'm from, the chances of it being shown on local theaters is nil. ;_;

Did you see the news? It's getting released in America somewhere! Hopefully more than just LA and New York. Yeah, Maki's English wasn't bad at all. Apparently Tegoshi speaks something English in the film...that'll be worth a road trip.
