Back From the, Uh...Lethargy

I can't believe I haven't posted in about a week.  I keep checking my flist, but there hasn't been anything that I want to fangirl over.  Not much news, either.  My arm really hurts right now.  I think I have carpel tunnel.  I've been lethargic this week, and I think something bit me on the back.  I have a really sore place, and I've felt funky all ( Read more... )

Sorry, I just had to hijack this post. Lol. I've read Honey Hunt (well, a few chapters at least since I can't keep up with the million and one mangas I watch out for every week!) and I have to say, Haruka is JIn. Attitude, fluffy hair and all! And Ryo needs to grow a few inches to be Q-Ta! Lol.

Ow, and you forgot Yamaguchi Tomohisa. (In the Potato/Myojo mag)

Haruka is Jin. Most definitely. Hehe, Ryo-chan doesn't quite fit as Q-Ta. In fact, a minor character in Haruka's band shows up later, and THAT would be Ryo-chan, lol. But who would be good as Q-Ta?

Haha, yes, I forgot that one!

Lol. I've read it again and noticed that Leah Dizon was also mentioned. (Dearrizon) Q-Ta? Well, unless JE can come up with a nicer, smarter Jin....

Jin a double role? Hehehe, could he play a nice guy like Q-ta? It would require a lot of smiling.

Manga! I don't read it much, but once I get hooked on something, I'm hooked. Like, during the summer I read all of the Ouran manga until I was caught up, and then my dad scored all of the Hana Kimi manga for me cuz apparently someone was getting rid of it. o_0 Major score right there, especially since I don't normally buy manga. So expensive ( ... )

Ooh, that was lucky scoring the entire Hana Kimi manga. I've had to slowly buy them over the past year. I tend to reread my books a lot, though, so it pays for me to buy them.

It's fun looking for JE in Shojo Beat and Anime Insider. Last year there was a movie poster for Honey and Clover that had Sho on it, so I kept it. ^_^

I agree, they should really mention the younger groups more. Mentioning them is fine even if showing pictures isn't. But I get the feeling the writers at SB maybe don't know about JE? Or at least aren't into that world. I was surprised when Ohkura of all people got that small article in this month's issue. And sometimes JE boys do songs for anime. Take Tegomass, for instance. They did the beginning and end songs for the first season of Lovely Complex. Then Hey!Say! did the songs for the second season. And Ai Ai Gasa was the end theme for the last season of Code Geass. V6 did a song for Inuyasha. There are probably more.

It was super lucky. My dad called me and asked if I was interested, and I was like, you mean one book right? You can't possibly mean the entire series right??? In the side column things, the manga-ka talks about JE so much! I was kind of excited. I mean, it was mostly the older groups, cause of when the manga was written, but in the final volume she said she was listening to Pikanchi Double the whole time she was working on it. I was like OMG SHE MENTIONED ARASHI. :D ( ... )

XD She does talk about JE a lot. I'll have to look for the Arashi reference. I'm only a couple of volumes from the end of the manga. *sniffle* I'll miss it when I finish it.

Yeah, SB could mention CDJapan or even the Kinokuniya website, because you can order from that, too. They do have some random stuff, but a lot of it ties into that anime mindset. They probably also have deals with certain websites and places who pay them for advertising, so they have to make sure those places are included. Anime Insider is a little more open about that kind of stuff. They mention JE more often in their Top Weekly Singles column (which is always a month late), and once they had a whole article about manga being made into dramas. They even had a picture from the Nodame Cantabile drama.

SB sometimes mentions drama versions of manga, but only in the "Oh, there was a drama made of it, too" way. But they can't really say where to go watch them since it's not exactly legal, lol.

I am clueless about manga. I watch anime but I never have the patience to read manga online (since those sold in bookstores would break my bank. lol). Anyway, I always love catching JE references. There was a group in the anime Shugo Chara called P-TUN. It cracked me up. xD

Tacchon's face being covered up might be the magical veil of JE that repels all shots not sanctioned by the Jimushu. Haha.

LOL, gotta love the winks to JE in stuff. Only fans would get the references.

Yes, true, the Magical Veil of JE. Right next to the Veil that's in Harry Potter. Both are mysterious, and we do not know what's behind them.

Ah, I read Wanted before~ My sister really likes Matsuri Hino's stuff, and I always end up stealing it to read it. >_

Matsuri Hino has some pretty good stuff. Of course there's Vampire Knight--which sadly, is getting a little too Twilighty for my liking cause I want Yuki to kick butt, not give in Kaname--and there's something else I've read, but I can't remember.

ah, you probably read MeruPuri ('cuz that's what I read of hers before, and I don't even read manga that much). gosh, everything's getting too twilight-y these days, anyways. -.-" instead of saying, "if you liked harry potter, read this!" the stores are saying, "if you liked twilight, read this!"

I have always avoided the manga section at Borders. Each time I went after school, there would always be this one obnoxious girl with her little posse and they'd all talk very loudly about whatever manga they were reading that day.

It's great that they're so involved - but really now, STFU. I'M TRYING TO READ DAMNIT. D8<

Since your fansubbing team did Bloody Monday, I have a question for you about the end xD.

Who was the man Orihara Maya was talking to on the phone? Was that Otoya's grandfather...?

Gah, it's not just here?! What is it with young manga fans? I mean, I'm glad they're into it. Yay manga! and all that, but can they just not have a little consideration for other manga fans?

YES IT WAS. See, the final episode left too much undone. The butterfly guy apparently DIDN'T DIE (that's a big WTF? if I ever saw one), Maya may be in cahoots with Otoya's grandfather, the insides of the jewelry box are being kept by J whose story we really don't know, and Haruka doesn't really know her father is dead. So I'm really hoping for a Bloody Monday special this year.

Or a special and then a sequel next year! That would be the bestest.

You may be right in predicting a SP for this drama.
Now I'm even more baffled.

I was at Kinokuniya today after work to pick up a few magazines - and I ran into a gaggle of said manga fans. Then I saw that one of them was holding a JE magazine - xD and I had to chuckle.
